Today the CMS Committee held an evidence session to follow-up on the Committee’s previous work on racism in cricket. We heard from three panels today. In the first panel we heard from Cindy Butts (Chair, Independent Commission for Equity in Cricket), Sir Brendan Barber, Commissioner, ICEC) and Dr Michael Collins (Commissioner, ICEC). In the second panel we heard from Richard Gould (CEO, England and Wales Cricket Board), Clare Connor CBE (Deputy CEO and Managing Director, ECB) and Richard Thompson (Chair, ECB). In the third panel we heard from Harry Chathli (Former Chair, Yorkshire County Cricket Club) and Colin Graves (Chair, Yorkshire County Cricket Club).
We heard from the ECBs Independent Commission established to consider equity in cricket, followed by the ECB themselves on progress made. The final panel looked at recent changes to Yorkshire Cricket County Club, including the return of Colin Graves.
