Making Ashford’s streets safer

It has always been one of my highest priorities to work with the police and the Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Scott to bear down on crime and anti-social behaviour.

Ashford has benefitted from the Safer Streets initiative which provides more CCTV and other anti-crime measures. The recent increase in police numbers means that we now have a higher number of police on the streets giving confidence to residents.

Ashford Police Station itself has not just been saved but turned into a modern workplace which helps officers and staff do their job better.

I have also supported initiatives on rural crime, which has in the past too often be ignored. Everyone, wherever they live, should be confident that the police will treat victims seriously, and I will keep fighting for this.
