Damian Green, MP for Ashford joins forces with the Oliver Steeper Foundation to ensure all nurseries in the UK are equipped with an anti- choking device.
Lewis and Zoe Steeper tragically lost their son, Oliver Steeper in 2021 after choking on food at his nursery. Now, his parents are trying to raise enough money to pay for the anti-choking device, called LifeVac, to be installed in all childcare settings across the UK.
Oliver was only nine months old when he choked and his parents believe that if the device was available at his nursery, his life could've been saved. The device works by sucking out the obstruction using a handle attached to the mask and costs around £60 - £80. LifeVac claims their device has already saved over 1,000 lives.
His parents are fighting hard to leave a lasting legacy in Oliver's name, so other children and parents do not have to go through the same tragedy. Anyone can donate directly to the Oliver Steeper Foundation by using this link - https://www.oliversfoundation.org.uk/
