Today the CMS Committee held a session on the work of the BBC. We heard from Tim Davie CBE (Director General), David Jordan (Director of Editorial Policy and Standards), and Charlotte Moore (Chief Content Officer).
This is a regular scrutiny session with the BBC and gave us the opportunity to examine its overall performance, progress on impartiality work and developments in areas of particular interest to the committee. We were keen to expedite this session following recent controversies, including those regarding Richard Sharp and Gary Lineker.
