Today the CMS Committee held a session on the work of the ITV. We heard from Dame Carolyn McCall OBE (Chief Executive, ITV), Kevin Lygo (Managing Director, Media and Entertainment, ITV), and Kyla Mullins (General Counsel and Company Secretary, ITV).
The purpose of this session follows the widespread media reporting in recent weeks of TV presenter Phillip Schofield’s departure from ITV following his admission of a relationship with a junior member of staff on This Morning. It enabled us to try and establish what ITV knew and when, how they investigated, and to examine their safeguarding and whistleblowing policies, especially in light of wider reporting about the working culture on This Morning and other ITV productions.
