Today the CMS Committee held its second evidence session of the British Film and High-End TV inquiry. We heard from three panels. In the first panel we heard from James Hawes (Director and Vice-Chair of Directors UK). In the second panel we heard from Rebecca O’Brien (Producer, Sixteen Films). In the third panel we heard from Eva Yates (Director, BBC Film) and Ollie Madden (Director, Film4).
This session primarily focussed on independent British film and high-end TV, and aimed to understand more about the challenges facing this part of the sector. The final panel featured two of the three main public funders of independent film, who also discussed the role of PSBs in commissioning, distributing and screening British content.
